Our origin

FIAES originated in 1993 thanks to an agreement to reduce external debt by nature between the governments of the United States of America and El Salvador, with the purpose of supporting sustainable growth and the conservation of natural resources.

The emergence of environmental funds at a global level occurred within the framework of the celebration of the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. 

Our Trajectory

FIAES, con más de 30 años de trayectoria, es un fondo de restauración ambiental robusto y sostenible, que trabaja en coordinación con el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales y en alianza con diversas organizaciones nacionales e internacionales, entidades públicas, empresas y cooperantes… 

Thanks to continuous learning and the strengthening of its structure and operational capacity, FIAES has now become a platform for the implementation of diverse projects with national reach, which report positive impacts on the environment for our country and the region.
